Reports to: Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) President & CEO

Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. (Exempt Position)

Job Summary:

‍

The Carlsbad Chamber Community Foundation (Foundation) Director is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Foundation's vision, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and grant-making operations, which are aligned with the overall objectives of the Foundation. Additionally, the role involves defining fundraising campaign goals, tactics, and program initiatives.

The Foundation Director is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, finances, and legal requirements, and reporting to the Foundation Board on the strategy, performance, operations, and finances, in keeping with its legal status as both a Chamber and a Foundation.

Qualifications: 

‍

• Industry Experience: At least 3 to 5 years of experience in workforce development, chamber of commerce work or similar industry. 
• Office Experience: Knowledge of such things as: Office practices and procedures, Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Google Office Suite, WordPress, and social media; including business correspondence; operation of standard office equipment; record-keeping methods; use of Personal Computers.
• Experience in grant writing a plus.
• Education: Minimum associate or bachelor’s degree.

Operational Responsibilities:

‍

• This position has responsibility for the day-to-day operations of all Foundation programs.
• Interface with select Chamber committees, including Education, and Miliary Affairs.
• Assist in coordinating communications among individuals, groups, and associations within the Foundation, and between Foundation and Chamber and the community.
• Be available occasionally for evening and/or weekend special events.

Communication Responsibilities:

‍

• Help assist in the development of marketing campaigns for the annual fund generation.

Salary and Benefits:

‍

• This is a full-time Exempt salary position
• Salary range of $55,000 to $70,000 BOE
• 12 Paid holiday/year, two weeks paid vacation after first year of service, 5 days sick leave/year.
